Mocha Club is an organization that funds multiple programs in Africa including orphan care, HIV/AIDS treatment and prevention, education, clean water, and more. It asks you to donate $7 a month by giving up two mochas to provide life-changing funds to Africans. As a student, this is the perfect opportunity for me to put my limited income to use in Africa.
Will you join me?
I have created a team named Is. 52:7 ("How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news, proclaiming peace and your salvation.") that sponsors orphan care.
Use the following URL to link to my team and provide hope and a future to God's beloved children:

| So, I've been gone for awhile...just haven't really felt like updating recently. But, I'm bored tonight and am procrastinating, like any good college senior 3 weeks away from graduation should, so here I am. Update on life...2 weeks left of class...3 weeks left of college...3 weeks, 3 days until Ethiopia. I can't wait. It's an interesting time of life. I don't think it's really hit me that I won't be coming back to JBU in the fall again. I'm going to miss this so much; the people, the atmosphere, the professors, my roomie Gabe. It'll be a big change moving back to KC and home, but I'm excited for the next stage of life. Right now, my focus is entirely on Ethiopia. I can't even begin to explain how thrilled and ready I am to be going back...my heart has been yearning for those kids for the last two years. It's been amazing how God has blessed me with the opportunity to return...my support came in quickly through the generosity of my friends and family. I'll be flying out of Fayetteville on May 6th and then flying back into KC on July 8th. Oh man, I can't wait. This is what I'm most looking forward to:
So, in other news. I'm in the midst of finding ways to pay for medical school next year...I applied for a scholarship through the Christian Medical and Dental Association that would pay for all my school (up to $25,000 a year) for service overseas. So, basically for every year I serve on the mission field after school and residency, they pay off 14% of my total costs. A perfect scholarship for me. Anyways, they're supposed to be picking the 3 finalists tomorrow and then those 3 will fly to Tennessee for interviews on June 10th. So, I'm looking into flying home for a few days for the interview and then heading back to Ethiopia...if it comes to that. Please keep this in your prayers...it's a huge opportunity, but a lot of logistical things to work through. So yeah, that's an update on me...I should probably head back to the homework. Only one presentation and 2 papers stand between me and graduation. Too bad I don't care anymore....it makes everything so much more difficult. | | |
| BLESSINGS... I found out Saturday that one of my best friends from high school, Brian, was accepted to KU Med School as well, so we'll be going to school together once again next year. I am so incredibly excited about having him up in KC with me and am extremely thankful to have a friend and study partner for med school. It is definitely a huge answer to prayer for me. I was dreading being in KC with no friends, but not anymore...it just makes me even more ready to start next fall. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! | | |
| I get to see these beautiful faces again this summer. I'M SO EXCITED!
